Hey Everyone, 

So Sunday is now upon us and that dreaded 'back to work Monday' feeling is looming. Its a little harder for me as I have had a week off from the office and however much I enjoy my job, I enjoy time off so much more but I am looking forward to catching up with everyone :).

Yesterday me and my boyfriend took our weekly shopping trip and I thought I would share with you my 'Face Of The Day'. I never do these posts, not because I do not like them, just I rarely remember although with some time to kill whilst waiting for my boyfriend to get to mine I thought I might do a rare one!

New Make Up Storage and Organisation

Hi Everyone,

It has been a while since my last post and I apologise for that. I have been trying and testing a number of products in order to give you some good reviews which are coming up in the very near future. In the mean time I thought I would share with you my new makeup storage and organisation. My collection has been growing for sometime now so I had to invest in new storage. My boyfriend and I took a trip to our local ikea this week and as I had heard such great reviews about the Ikea 'Alex' collection amongst the beauty community I was desperate to get my hands on one of their chest of drawers. The 'Alex' comes in 2 sizes in this style, either 9 or 5 drawers. Originally I opted for the 9 however whilst picking it up I spotted the smaller one and opted for that instead, which was a slight pal-lava as I picked up the wrong one, cue some debating with the shop assistant I finally had to admit I was wrong, she was right and change it, but we got there in the end :)!

The Alex 5 drawer has 2 smaller drawers and 3 larger drawers at the bottom. They also go back really far and come out all the way so you can easily access things at the back. To view where to buy the drawers click here. It costs £55 and is really easy to put together. 

At the moment I have only filled 4 of the drawers, so it was probably a blessing that I opted for the 5 drawer and not the 9 as I would have felt inspired to fill it with more products :) which is not good for my bank balance! 

I like to keep all my items organised by products. I got these small plastic baskets from Tesco for a couple of pounds and luckily they fit perfectly into the smaller drawers. 


So in the top I have my 'eye' products. This is everything from mascaras, to single eyeshadows and eyeliner and brow products. Then I have my 'lip' products which includes all my glosses, lipsticks, liners and balms. I know some people like to go even further but I honestly do not have the room. 

I also have my UD Naked palette and other miscellaneous palettes and some random eyelash curler and sponges. 


In my next draw is nail products. All my polishes and removers, files and clippers etc. I know this is a little random to go from the above to this however I needed one of the shallower drawers for these. I also got from Ikea some plastic non slip drawer liners which was perfect for this drawer as you literally cut it to shape and place in the drawer and it prevents your items from slipping around!

Next is face products. One tray holds all my bronzers, blushers, highlights and contour kits and the second has all my foundations, concealers, powders and primers. 

At the back I have another 'random' tray filled with miscellaneous face masks and creams etc which I use often but not on a regular daily basis. 


And finally...my 'hair drawer' this has all my brushes and combs, all my hair care products such as conditioners, spare shampoos, oils, heat protectants, etc etc...  I have actually downsized this drawer in a massive clear out whilst organising this so this is a lot smaller than it was :)

Sleek Face Contour Kit

For a while I have been looking for a contour kit. Up until now I had just been using a regular bronzer to contour and an ELF highlighter. I had heard lately though about the Sleek Face Contour Palette. I'm a great fan of Sleek as like ELF I do believe they are great quality for a cheaper High Street brand of cosmetics. This palette had received great reviews in the blogging and YouTube community so for a bargain price of £6.99 I thought it was worth a try and having used this for the past week or so I do believe I may have found my new favourite product. 

What Sleek has to say about it...

A highlighter and pressed powder kit, which can be used to help sculpt and define one’s features. This product contains two powders. 

The darker powder is used to create shadows on the face, such as defining the jaw line or contouring the cheekbones. The lighter powder is the highlighter, used to reflect light off the face and can be placed in various places such as the apple of the cheeks, the temple, the tip of the nose etc. 14g

This palette comes in 3 shades, light medium or dark. I opted for the light one as it still looked fairly dark and you can always build up for a more intense colour. What I loved was how smooth and soft the powders are. They are slightly 'chalky' in consistency and of course can't be compared to department store brands yet for the price they are of great quality. 

It also comes with an instruction leaflet which may be helpful if you are new to contouring?

What I loved most was the highlighter. Like where has this been all my life? Up until now I had been using cream highlighters and had never tried a powder one so I was keen to test this. It glides on smoothly and leaves a gorgeous glow with a shimmer that just catches the light without leaving your face looking like a human glitter ball :)

Benefit YOU REBEL

Hi Girls, 

Todays post is about Benefits 'You Rebel' tinted moisturiser. I purchased this in the summer as I wanted maximum coverage without feeling like I was wearing too much make-up. The reviews on this product were mixed however being a huge Benefit fan I was keen to test it. 

The product comes in 2 shades. Either the original or light. I purchased the original based on recommendation from one of the girls at the Benefit counter. 

For a tinted moisturiser it is rather thick consistency and actually resembles more of a foundation than a moisturiser. I have tried several tinted moisturisers before and they gave little coverage so I had higher expectations for this product. 

 My initial thoughts on this product were that it was too dark although it blended into my skin well (or so I thought). I set this with powder and all was fine however as the day progressed the product moved a lot and left me with what I can only describe as a 'dirty' look. Now don't get me wrong I think this would be  a great product when used with the correct skin type however I have combination skin and therefore as I get oily around the T zone area, the product only enhanced the oiliness.  

With regards to the colour, in hindsight I would have opted for the lighter colour or even purchased both to mix together to get a better shade. Personally speaking I have not given up hope with this product (given the price of £23.50). I don't think it helped that I used it in the summer months when my skin is much more oily. I can only imagine that if I used it in the winter when my skin is a lot dryer then I think this product will work well.

Have you tried this product and what did you think? Although I will always love Benefit and their products I can't help thinking this one was a slight disappointment!

Hey Guys, 


I thought I would do a quick blog this afternoon.  I watch YouTube religiously however have never had the confidence or courage to actually start doing videos.  Most of the time you will find me watching video tutorials and reviews.  This was what ultimately prompted me to start a blog.  I thought as I relied on other girls for an honest opinion on products it was only fair that I gave a little back and had my say :)  So I would just like to share with you my Top 5 beauty bloggers and why.

Pixiwoo are 2 sisters who happen to be well established makeup artists.  They are incredibly talented at what they do and make the application of make up seem so simple and natural.  I discovered these girls through my next.

Tanya Burr again is a well established make up artist yet I love how she comes across as just 'one of the girls' with her down to earth nature.  She actually dates the pixiwoo girls brother, Jim hence the name.

Just because this was the first ever You Tube beauty guru that I discovered about 2 years ago and I have been fascinated by watching beauty gurus and reading blogs ever since so you could say that she 
kind of inspired me

I have to be honest with you girls this girl does annoy me to an extent but I just can't help watching her videos and good for her for making something of herself.  She might not be everyones cup of tea but she is a guilty pleasure of mine :)
