Duo Boots Blogger Competition

When an email popped into my inbox offering the opportunity to win a pair of shoes or boots worth up to £270 my eyebrows immediately tweaked. Duo was a brand that I had not heard of before however a quick mooch of their website told me this was right up my street so I could not wait to get stuck into their competition by creating a season look featuring either shoes or boots by Duo! I am definitely a boot girl when it comes to my footwear atire so Autumn seemed like the perfect season to opt for. As soon as I clicked on the site these ankle boots immediately caught my eye. I decided to add a splash of colour to my usual skinny jean 'uniform' by following along the line of the red wine almost vampy trend which seems to be very popular at the moment. A slouchy jumper is a must, no one likes a muffin top over their skinnys do they :-) and what with the colder months coming I definitely like to make up for it in comfort food. The bag is an absolute steal from eBay and definitely has somewhat of a *cough* Mulberry feel about it. I added the scarf to bring the colours together, a sweep of a deep red lippy and you are good to go.

Introducing Mallzee | Online shopping

I was recently contacted about a brand spanking new website thats due to be launched later this year. The website is called Mallzee and sounds right up my street and is very different from other shopping websites I have come across. The concept behind the site is to create a new online shopping experience.  Users will be able to create their very own 'mall' and the swish software matches products based on your own personal style. Almost like having your own stylist from the comfort of your living room. Sounds great right? There are currently over 200 brands collaborating with Mallzee including a good few well known high street brands such as Urban Outfitters, Miss Selfridge and New Look to name a few. You then have the option to 'share' your mall with your friends and everytime someone buys from your mall you earn money based on the sale. Pretty cool right? Definitely takes some of the guit out of shopping!

House of Fraser are currently running a blogger challenge to win a whopping £200. I love these types of challenges the chance to add items to my virtual shopping bag without the guilt! Plus there was no price limit therefore you have free reign to the entire shop!

So what do you think of my outfit? I am definitely a casual girl during the day. I like to be comfy but then smart enough to take me into the evening if the occasion arises. I practically live in ankle boots and this pair from Dune, albeit pretty pricey look pretty darn comfy but smart whilst being on trend for the autumn/winter season. The AA disco pants have been working their way around the blogging scene for a while now but these high waisted coated jeans make a good alternative for a similar price. Teamed with a casual tee with a slight edge this outfit is definitely something I would wear! The MK watch is a lust of mine and yet another beauty blogger cult item! I love the darker colours in the new NAR's collection and Diamond Life is right up my street. I can't go anywhere without a handbag, which usually entails lugging everything bar the kitchen sink around. This quilted number from Jaeger is smaller than my usual preference but has a real Chanel feel about it and the chain detail is to die for. I want!

Competition | £100 ASOS Challenge

I think everyone has heard of the £100 ASOS challenge over at The Discount Coder Blog and I thought it was about time I dipped my paws in. Who doesn't enjoy a bit of virtual shopping right? 

Going out on the town these days is a rarity so when I do dig my party shoes out I like to go all out, fake tan, new outfit the whole shebang! When it comes to my outfits I tend to stick to classic shapes and favour black with a splash of colour. This playsuit is literally calling my name. I usually stick to a trusty dress when it comes to going out so a playsuit is a good compromise and the classic shape of this means its not going to date. Being a short ass, when it comes to shoes I am like 'stack me up'! The higher the better, yes there have been a few accidents in the past as a result of my skyscraper heels, most recently in Frankie and Bennies where I proceeded to go A over T in the loo's! haha. A clutch is a must on a night out. I hate seeing ladies with a full on handbag, it just ruins a perfectly good ensemble so this, albeit out of my comfort zone colour wise makes the entire outfit stand out a tad more, especially teamed with a bright coral lip! Statement necklaces are becoming a little popular in my collection lately and I love a structured one such as this one, as the playsuit is rather low this would just help draw attention away from the boob area! 

So guys that's it for my outfit, nothing too daring my this is something I would definitely throw together on a night out with the girls!

How to save money online | Competition

When it comes to spending I have got it down to a fine art. Often quite frivolous when purchasing online and on the High Street I am more than likely to be seen paying full retail price for an item than scour the internet for discounts or face the dreaded queues of sale shopping *hangs head in shame*.  As a result my bank balance has paid the price *sighs*. This year my boyfriend and I have started the stressful task of looking for a little place to call our own. Albeit we are going to be renting to start with but it does mean that my now disposable income is going to be spent on bills, rent and all the other things that come with being a fully fledged grown up! So this year I have made it my sole mission to be more careful with my pennies, cue operation miss money savvy!. After some thoughtful research and my trusted friend Google I have come up with some of the best money saving sites which could save or make you a bob or two!

Clothes swapping parties are becoming a growing trend at the moment whether you want to gather all your friends together for a 'swapping' party (clothes swapping that is!) or use an online service such as bigwardrobe.com which offers a FREE online fashion exchange.

Girl Meets Dress is a site for the designer/fashion lover. Its a subscription service starting at £60 per year where you can hire out designer dresses for occasions. If you rarely go to occasions then this is not going to be worth your while however if you had a few weddings over the course of a year and are not a fan of the Kate Middleton recycling trend then this could be for you. I often spend at least £60 on 1 dress alone! Offering you high end fashion which you return after use meaning you will never be caught in the same dress twice. The only downside is you do actually have to return the dresses! Boo!

eBay has to be an old fave of mine and probably the one place that I can happily browse for hours. The trick is to grabbing a bargain is timing often you need to stay up late or early morning to blag the best bargains when there are less people around to bid against. Try using a tool such as fatfingers which searches commonly misspellings that often get missed in listings and lost in the world of eBay. I have bagged many a new item for only a few quid using this tool.

Cashback sites are always great! Topcashback is one of the most familiar sites out there with many of the big fashion stores such as ASOS, Very Warehouse to name a few. You can claim up to 8% per store. Keep building this up and you could have nice little amount to claim back to put towards, more clothes maybe? My work actually has one of these sites for employees so check with your company to see whether they have the same service. Often larger companies will have employee perks that you don't even know about.

Most stores have ongoing discount codes floating around. These are generally sent to those subscribed to their websites but little gems such as fashionvouchers.com find these codes and collate them into a website for you. The codes range from anything from free P&P to 10% off or more. Every little helps right and I for one am always a bit bummed when it comes to paying extortionate postage charges especially if I am only ordering 1 or 2 items.

L'Oreal 'Cast Yourself'!‏ Competition

A few days ago the lovely people at Handpicked Community got in touch about this amazing opportunity being given by L'Oreal in association with their 'Casting Creme Gloss' hair colour. 

I have actually just purchased 2 boxes of this colour in Chocolate Truffle and am yet to try it however what inspired me to purchase was the fact that it has no ammonia and is semi permanent so it is better for your hair and not to mention the colour looks stunning. 

Now onto the competition. L'Oreal are looking for girls to upload their picture onto the L'Oreal Facebook page which can be accessed here and they will be in with the chance to star in a commercial alongside Cheryl Cole. So whether you're a red head, blonde or brunette its open to you all. All you have to do is upload a photo on the Facebook site. 


The competition is open from 31st October - 27th November so you have plenty of time to submit your entries. Friends and family can then vote between 28^th November - 4^th December 2011


The most popular entrants will then be shortlisted for a casting day where they will each receive a personal make over by professional makeup artists and hair stylists ready for a live audition in front of a live judging panel. This will be each girls opportunity to shine and tell the judges why you love 'Casting Creme Gloss'.
