Cargo Lipgloss in Morocco Review

Every now again again you get somewhat of a gem in a beauty box and this seems to be what has happened with the Cargo Lipgloss I received a few months back. Having reverted to almost all lipsticks lately its rare these days to find a lipgloss in my collection but having been rather impressed by this I thought it was time I shared it with you. The colour Morrocco is a highly pigmented rose pink, with a hint of slight gold flecks through it. On initial glance I assumed that the gold would be too much and threw to the back of my drawer in a haste. However I have made it my mission to try products in my beauty boxes rather than instantly dismiss so I tried this on a whim and I was suitably impressed. The colour is subtle enough to wear during the day yet pigmented enough that it can be built up for intensity. Shimmer? What shimmer? There is no visible glitter/shimmer when this is applied just a very subtle iridescent highlight when it catches the light. As for stickiness, the one thing that puts me off glosses, this was bar to none, the formulation is not your average sticky lipgloss, although there is some its very minimal providing an almost mattified finish without drying your lips out. Caudalie Paris Beauty Elixir Review

Nothing new here lovelies, if you have been keeping up with the blogging world as of late then you will be fully aware of the miraculous product that is Caudalie Beauty Elixir.  Inspired by the 'elixir of youth' used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, it promises to smooth features, tighten pores and provide an instant burst of radiance. Described as almost a hybrid between a toner and a moisturiser I opt to use this after cleansing, spritzing 2-3 sprays onto my face and inhaling the strong peppermint aromas which I find just as refreshing as the mist itself. The 30ml bottle is small enough to be handbag friendly allowing me to throw in my bag and freshen up throughout the day. Allegedly Victoria Beckham has been quoted as enjoying this product, using on top of her makeup for a glowing complexion. From a personal perspective this is not going to have any long term skin benefits that I have experienced but this is the perfect antidote for a luxury pick me up after cleansing. When it comes to skin care I can be a tad impatient so anything that gives an instant result is right up my street and this provides just that. Just a couple of spritz and my face is almost instantly refreshed and revitalised giving a dull complexion a new lease of life and providing the perfect canvas for my moisturiser. Philosophy The Present Primer

It seems like I am forever on the hunt for the perfect primer. Having oily/combo skin means I am constantly looking for products that counteract the oily areas, stop my makeup from slipping and avoid drying out my skin. I thought I had found that in Benefits Porefessional and whilst I shall always remain loyal to this product there is a new product in town that I have been loving at the minute.

Philosophy's The Present is described as a clear makeup promising to cover fine lines, wrinkles and uneven skin texture. Whilst the former is not a large problem for myself and my 27 years, the latter is something I have fought with for sometime. The product itself is described as a clear makeup, leaning towards a hybrid of moisturiser and primer. Although it is recommended to be used over an oil free moisturiser I find that it gives the perfect dose of moisture to be used alone. After cleansing and toning I find myself slathering a pea sized amount over my face, waiting a couple of minutes and then applying my foundation. Unlike conventional scentless primers this has a distinctive herbal aroma with subtle tones of lavender which feels pleasantly soothing when applied to the skin. After applying my skin feels noticeably smoother and hydrated and it provides a good canvas for liquid foundation. Whilst this does not omit movement of makeup for the entire day I would say that this has assisted in keeping my foundation in place for a majority of the day. I no longer have to do the lunch time touch up and clean up any areas where the foundation has slipped about. Aside from being an overall amazing product, the only small gripe I can think of with this product is the fact that on opening the product disperses rather readily so be careful or you could have some wasted product on your hands. For a hefty £22 you get  2 oz of product in comparison to the Porefessional 0.75 oz for £23.50. So, if you are looking for a mattifying primer then this is a great go-to product. 

Cosmopolitan 2012 Blog Awards

Not the usual type of post from me but I thought that you should know that its that time of year again. Yes for bloggers that means the prestigious Cosmo blog awards. If you are not familiar with the Cosmopolitan blog awards then here is the spew.
